Cucumber Raita Recipe/ Kheera Raita Recipe


Cucumber Raita is one of the variants in the raita category.  Cucumber Raita is made with curd and cucumber as the main ingredients. 

Cucumber is also called kheera. It has many health benefits. It promotes hydration, contains many antioxidants, good for weight loss as it is low in calories, etc.

At the same time; curd improves digestion, improves digestion, helps to lose weight. It is also good for skin as it makes skin glow, removes dark spots, prevents premature wrinkles, etc.

Cucumber Raita Recipe/ Kheera Raita Recipe:

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins
Servings:  2-3 people

Ingredients:

  • Cucumber: 1 
  • Curd: 3/4 cup 
  • Salt: 3/4 tsp
  • Sugar: 1/2 tsp
  • Kala namak (Black Salt): 1/2 tsp
  • Jeera powder (cumin): 1/4 tsp

    For tadka:
  • Oil: 2 tsp
  • Rai (Mustard seeds): 1/4 tsp
  • Hing (Asafoetida): 1/8 tsp
  • Haldi (turmeric powder): 1/8 tsp


Method:
Step 1: 
Wash the cucumber, peel it. Grate the cucumber as shown in the image. Now squeeze the grated cucumber so that it leaves all its water.

Step 2: 
Now, take grated cucumber into a mixing bowl. Now take one separate bowl and whisk the curd without adding water to it.

Step 3: 
Now add the whisked curd to grated cucumber. Add salt, sugar, black salt, and jeera powder to it.

Step 4: 
Now take one tadka pan. Heat some oil to it. Add rai, hing, and haldi to it. When rai starts to splutter, add to the mixture and mix well.

Our cucumber raita is ready, garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Serve cold.

Notes:
  1. Sugar can be adjusted as per the taste or it is optional.
  2. Cucumber Raita is helpful in weight loss as it is low in calories and easy to digest.
