Aamras: Summer Special Recipe


Summers are here in full swing and it's time for mangoes to raid our refrigerators and fruit baskets. It is also called as the king of fruits, mangoes are enjoyed in many forms. 

One can make mangoes smoothie, dips, shakes, amrakhand,
and many more dishes with mangoes. One of the delights is Aamras. Aamras, sweet dish is most popular in Indian homes.

Many varieties of mangoes we can get in different regions of India. So let's jump to the recipe, for which I have taken Banganapalli mangoes. 


Aamras: Summer Special Recipe

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins
Servings:  3-4 people

Ingredients:

  • Mangos: 3 
  • Milk: 3/4 cup 
  • Water (cold): 3/4 cup
  • Sugar: 6-7 tbsp
  • Edible color: 1 pinch
  • Cardamom powder (optional): 1/4 tsp


Method:
Step 1: 
Wash mangoes properly. Peel the thin layer of mangoes and cut randomly into pieces (as shown in image).

Step 2: 
Now, add milk and food color to it. Mix it with a hand mixer. you can also blend it in blender or mixer.

Step 3: 
When it's mixed properly, add water, sugar, and cardamom powder to it and again blend it.

Step 4: 
After blending it well, strain it with a strainer, and Aamras is ready to serve.

Serve cold.


Notes:
  1. Sugar can be adjusted as per the sweetness of mangoes.
  2. You can use ice also instead of cold water.
  3. Aamras tastes awesome. You can pair Aamras with the pooris also.
