Bombay masala toast sandwich is a yummy fast food in sandwiches category. These recipes have properly Indian taste.

These sandwiches are stuffed with a delicious spiced mashed potato and onion stuffing, topped with cheese and then grilled or toasted. They have also a layer of coriander and green chili chutney and tomato ketchup which enhances the taste of the sandwich.

Bombay Masala Toast Sandwich Recipe:

Preparation Time: 08 mins
Cooking Time: 15 mins
Servings:  3-4 people

Ingredients:

For Stuffing:

  • Potatoes (boiled & peeled): 3
  • Onion (chopped): 1/2 cup
  • Ginger, Garlic, Green chilli, Coriander leaves paste: 2.5 tsp
  • Oil: 2-3 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds (Rai): 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (Haldi): 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilli powder (Lal Mirch): 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder (Dhania): 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida (Hing): 1/8 tsp
  • Black salt (Kala namak): 1/2 tsp (as per taste)
  • Salt: As per taste
  • Chat Masala: 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice: 1/2 tsp

Other Ingredients:

  • Tomato Ketchup
  • Green Chutney
  • Bread slices
  • Cheese slices (optional)
  • Butter/ghee

Method:
Step 1: 
Heat some out in kadhai. When the oil is heated, add rai to it.
When rai begins to splutter, add hing and paste (ginger, garlic, green chilli, coriander) to it.

Step 2:
Now add chopped onion to it. Cook it till onions turn pink. 

Step 3:
Now add Haldi powder, Lal Mirch powder, Dhania powder,  and boiled mashed potatoes to the mixture.
When the mixture is mixed properly, add salt, black salt, Lemon juice, Chat masala and coriander leaves (freshly chopped) to the stuffing.

Step 4:
Keep the mixture aside, till it cools down. 
Take 2 slices of bread, add ketchup & green chutney on slices. Spread our prepared stuffing to 1 slice cheese slice on either slice. 
*you can add grated cheese also instead of the cheese slice.

Step 5A:
Spread butter in the sandwich maker, add the sandwich to it. Flip it once Bombay Masala sandwich toasted.

Step 5B:
Heat some ghee/butter in the pan. Add sandwich to the pan and let it toast for 2-3mins in low flame. After that, add butter/ghee on either side and flip the sandwich. cook till 2-3 mins.

Our Bombay Masala Toast Sandwich is ready. Serve it with green chutney and sauce. One can add sev or extra grated cheese to it.
