Our awesome Gujarati cuisine (specially Surati) is incomplete without the special breakfast recipe i.e Locho. And Locho Chutney is an important part of this dish.
Locho chutney is made of fresh coriander leaves, green chilies and a very special and important ingredient dhokla/khaman. This chutney is sweet, spicy, and sour in taste.
Surati Locho Chutney/ Green Locho Chutney Recipe:
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins
Servings: 3-4 people
Ingredients: (1 cup- 200ml)
Step 1:
Take a jar of a mixer, add coriander leaves, mint leaves, salt, jeera, hing, Kala namak (black salt). Squeeze the juice of 1/2 lemon. Cover the lid and grind them coarsely.
Step 2:
Now, add Khaman pieces and water and again grind them.
Ingredients: (1 cup- 200ml)
- Freshly chopped coriander leaves: 1 cup
- Mint Leaves (pudina): 1/4 cup
- Green chilies: 4-5
- Sugar: 1.5 tsp
- Black salt: 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds (jeera): 1/2 tsp
- Lemon: 1/2
- Dhokla/ khaman: 2-3
- Hing: 1/8 tsp
- Water: 1/4 cup
- Salt: as per taste
Method:

Our Surati Locho Chutney/ Green Locho Chutney is ready to serve.
Notes:
- Be careful while adding salt, as khaman also has salt.
- You can adjust the sugar as per your taste.
